A Weekend in Umbria

Accommodations

Rooms are available on-site at our venue for all of our guests Thursday afternoon through Sunday morning. We hope you can join us the entire time! Please just indicate in your RSVP whether you’d like to stay on-site. The cost for this is €200 per person for the whole weekend.

Everything you need for the entire weekend will be covered—breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and drinks!

Dress Code

The dress code for our wedding will be formal, with bright colors encouraged. Check out this pinterest board for inspo!

For our welcome dinner on Thursday, feel free to dress a bit more casual—bring out those linen pants (jackets optional) and cute spring dresses.

Not obligatory but we encourage you to pack a swim suit! There’s a pool on-site and a lake nearby.

RSVPs

We kindly ask that you let us know whether you can make it by February 28, 2027 at the latest, but we love early RSVPs! If you have any questions, please text Miles or KC.

Transportation

La Dogana is located right at the border of Tuscany and Umbria, which means it is accessible from both Rome and Florence. Both of these cities provide great airport options that are less than 2 hours away.

For folks flying from within Europe, Perugia may be your best bet. It’s only a 30 minute drive from there to the venue!

For getting from the airports to Lake Trasimeno, we recommend a rental car. Driving in Italy is so easy even KC can do it! There will be plenty of parking at La Dogana, and having a car will give you the option to extend your travels around the region before or after the wedding.

For those of you who would prefer not to rent a car, you can take a direct train (Trenitalia) from either Rome or Florence to Terontola-Cortona. We’re happy to work with the venue to arrange for a taxi to pick you up from the train station. More info on this will be available closer to the date.

Other FAQs

Will any names be changing?

Nope! Both bride and groom will be keeping their given names.

Do I have a plus-one?

If you are a single person at the time you received your invite, yes! (We were too lazy to write “& Guest” on those envelopes!) Feel free to reach out to Miles or KC if you’re unsure.

What are the accommodations like?

The on-site accommodations are cozy apartments ranging from one to four bedrooms apiece (yes, they do have A/C!). We will work to make sure that folks are sharing apartments with people they know!

What should I pack?

Typically, late May in central Italy looks like mid-70s during the day and mid-50s at night. Keep that in mind as you plan your outfits!

Other than your wedding attire, we’d recommend:

  • A semi-formal outfit or two for welcome dinner and our farewell brunch

  • A swim suit and sandals for hanging out at the pool

  • Some outfits for going into town or exploring wineries nearby

  • Something you’re comfortable getting a bit messy (if you’re planning on participating in the cooking class)
